PEDAGOGICAL STRATEGY FOR THE TEACHING OF ETHNOMATHEMATICS IN THE INDIGENOUS EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS OF THE WAYUU PEOPLE

The process of teaching mathematics to the Wayuu people within the Colombian educational system in basic and secondary education lacks essential elements such as: contextualization, articulation with their own knowledge and relevance. Therefore, this article aims to propose an appropriate pedagogical strategy for teaching mathematics to primary, secondary and secondary school students in Wayuu indigenous educational establishments. The research is approached from a qualitative ethnographic framework, using instruments such as: classroom practices, field workshops, interviews, consultations and conversations with wise men (Alaulayuu). The results of this research demonstrate that students strengthen the learning process when a relevant strategy is implemented for teaching mathematics to the Wayuu people.
